What thickness is proper for a jewelry pendant?
I've made several, and I think they are all too thin. Then I made a thicker one and it bubbled up in the middle~don't know why that happened.
Thanks for any advice you can give me.

The bubbling is from an air bubble, if you get air trapped inside the clay when you bake it the air expands and makes a bubble. It's happened to me a few times. Run your clay through a pasta machine or roll it out a few time to work out any air bubbles in the clay.

I figured that was the case, but I had run it through the pasta machine. Cut out the shapes, put it together and really thought I had pressed out the air, guess not. Still looks interesting though with the bubble. Just not something I can use, :(
Thanks!

I usually make my pendants 1/4 inch thick. But I suspect everyone does something different. To get a uniform 1/4 thickness I roll out a sheet of polymer clay on the thickest setting on the pasta machine. Then slice the sheet in half, stack them, and gently roll them with a roller to combine them.

What kind of clay are you using? Premo can be durable at extremely thin measurements. Some clays, such as SculpeyIII, are too brittle to make a thin pendant.

Good info to have. I use all different clays really. Right now, whatever is on sale. Thank You!
