I was born and raised until the age of 16 in Egypt; then my family and I were forced to leave because of Jewish persecutions. We first settled in Milan, Italy where I studied fashion design and illustration.
Four years later, my family and I moved to New Jersey. While working in the daytime, I went first to Parson's School of design then to FIT for handbags and footwear design.
Funny enough, I did not pursue a career in the fashion business then.
In 1974, I met the love of my life and we got married. That was the year I became a US citizen and joined the Bahá'í Faith.
After attending two years in college and teaching drawing at the Papago Indian Reservation, my wife and I moved to Haiti, and we are still here after 30 years.
We run a craft-giftware business and we sell throughout the Caribbean. Through the years I had one-man shows for watercolor paintings and sold quite a few. I occasionally hand paint caftans and pareos. (See photo.)
it is only a couple of months ago that I became attracted to polymer clay.
I browsed the internet and followed a few tutorials, bought the clay and a few jewelry findings and got started in what is becoming my new passion. I am hooked on clay.
I discover new techniques every day and it sure gives me a lot of energy.
My back and leg pain is almost gone as a result of all this energy and adrenaline
